This week has been pretty intense so far.  I knew that I would have to tell my boss this week about me leaving in mid-August so she would have time to find a replacement for me (government processes for hiring are SO SLOW), and so on Monday I called in sick.  Talk about sticking my head in the sand. In any case, I got alot done during the day (loads of stuff, in fact). On Tuesday morning the BF and I had our medicals; which are mandatory for being posted.  I need about a million shots before going but that a whole other story…

So, after the medical the BF and I decided to take the rest of the day off and go see a movie in a spectacular effort to postpone my talk with the boss.

Yesterday, Wednesday, I finally sat down with my boss and told her the news.  She said all the right things (a great opportunity etc.) but I could tell she was really disappointed. She said she would like to work with me again when I come back because basically, I’m a superstar. 

Today, I don’t know why, but I feel really emotional about everything. I almost cried on the bus this morning because I felt my hair wasn’t pretty enough.  I suppose because now it’s all really happening. From now until mid-August, my life will be a blur of doing my inventory, going for shots, and trying to maintain some sort of calm about the fact that I’m making this huge life change.
