Torture

I ate so much at lunch today for no reason because I’m a fat pig.  I feel so bloated and gross now.
Urgh.

Total upheaval of your life if a lot of work, you know.

Last night I picked up a book called Diplomatic Baggage: The Adventures of a Trailing Spouse by Brigid Keenan.  It has been recommended to me by a variety of people and the bookstore near me finally had it in stock so I picked it up.  So far, it’s incredibly depressing.  The loneliness that’s amplified by [...]

McNerdy but still McAwesome

Yesterday was my birthday.  Not just any birthday, my champagne birthday.  At work, my colleagues got me a card and a cake, and when I got home I was very excited to get BF’s gift. I suspected a watch, since I’d been hinting at it FOREVER (and by forever I mean the last two years).
The [...]

Highlights

Highlights from last Saturday (our karaoke sendoff):
-My brother showing up and staying all night and having a great time (he’s even more introverted/hermit-like than me and I know this was a huge effort for him to be around so many people he doesn’t know).  And then he tried to pick up one of my friends.
-The [...]

Yep – this leaving stuff is feeling real now.

I’m very excited for tomorrow.  We’re having a leaving party at our favourite karaoke place in Chinatown and I have some friends coming in from out of town, which I’m so happy about.  These two girls who were my very good friends when I loved back here from Random European Country, and who both left [...]

How much more dorky can I be?

I’m at home today, looking after BF, who had laser eye surgery this morning.  Oh, and doing laundry, cleaning the house and maybe catching up on my reading (and computer game playing).
I love days like this.

Scatterbrain

Yesterday I had my shot for Hepatitis A, which didn’t hurt at all compated to Japanese Encephalitis, but which made me feel a little loopy for an hour.  I have two more Japanese Encephalitis shots that I’m really not looking forward to.  And Typhoid.  The nurse said that Typhoid really hurts too.
I’ve done everything I [...]

Slowly, but surely.

I have news.  The news is that I’m steadily loosing weight. Not much. About one or two pounds a week.  I haven’t really changed much about my exercise situation (which means my total lack of it), but I HAVE made changes in my diet and I guess they’re making a difference.

I’m drinking LOTS of water every [...]

It’s the little things that make me happy these days!

I’ve been trying to stay on top of everything these days with my infamous calendar. It helps a lot, except that when I look at it I want to crawl under a rock and disappear.  There is just SO MUCH STUFF TO DO.  I just remembered this morning that I have to change my address; [...]

There is such a thing as too many lattes.

I’m finally back at work after a weekend of delayed flights and spending too much money at the airport.  I’m exhausted but happy I got to see my dad accomplish his dream (even though I missed the whole ceremony because I was drinking my eighth green tea latte in Toronto’s Pearson Airport, praying to whatever [...]
